The peculiar Fanoš Mikulecký is the originator of many well-known songs from Podluží, generally considered folk songs. Next to him, the other main protagonist of the story is Honza, a musician and an uneducated journalism student. On one of his journeys he meets his former professor. He suggests that together they visit one of those who compose folk songs but do not claim authorship, Fanoš Mikulecký. With him, Honza understands the meaning of artistic creation and the fulfilment of human life...

Each of the four short stories, framed by the figure of the photographer, depicts the lives of women and girls whose work has brought them to the limelight, but also marked their relationships with those closest to them.

This reunion would probably be marked by light banter and nostalgic memories, but instead of another classmate, a door-to-door salesman rings the doorbell and brings unexpected news about a friend who will never arrive. The partygoers set off together by bus to visit him. During the journey, it becomes clear that talking about real feelings is much more complicated than it seems.
